Since 2005 Bluestone has been rocking clubs and events throughout Virginia, Maryland and DC, and keeping the blues alive by bringing a freshness and excitement to the music. Geared to keep the dance floor packed, Bluestone lights up the stage wherever they perform. Performing blues by today's best contemporary artists along with a mix of their own funky originals, Bluestone performs with a fiery edge, blending the blues with funk, rock and jazz into an exciting fusion of live party music. Bluestone's music shakes, swings and rocks. Powerful vocals, searing guitars, melodic keyboards and funked out rhythms make Bluestone one of the most exciting blues performances today. Bluestone is a 5-peice band consisting of rich vocals and harmonies, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and percussion. Matti Valdivia brings feeling, conviction and soul to the Bluestone mix. Known in the region for her distinctive jazz and blues work, Matti is Bluestone's voice, bringing the music alive with her unique and wonderful tones. With a driving rhythm provided by drummer Ernie Page, it's impossible to sit still when Bluestone takes the stage. Ernie creates the groove that drives Bluestone's sound. Adding bottom to that rhythm is bassist Dave Ruckman. Dave continues to impress Bluestone fans and blues aficionados with his funky grooves and impeccable style. Classically influenced keyboardist Zach Furness handles the keys and backing vocals with passion and style. Zach fills out Bluestone's unique sound with a tasteful combination of piano, organ and synth. The final piece of Bluestone is guitarist and vocalist Phil Flewallen. Phil has developed a distinctive guitar style shaped from years of studying great blues players and playing from his heart.
